NYFW Goes Back to the 70s

Bohemian babes and flouncy flower children can rest easy as the 2015 fall/winter New York Fashion Week declares a rad return of the psychedelic 70s . We have the skinney on what’s hitting runways, and my is it sweet. This wild wave of fashion has flooded the catwalk with fringe, turtlenecks, mini skirts, long skirts, belted waists and much more. We can also expect to see a lot of navy blue and olive greens which will give off a military vibe. Designers like Ralph Lauren Polo, Mara Hoffman,Tracy Reese, and BCBG Max Azria embraced this blast from the past with open arms at their shows.

We all know trends come and go in one big cycle so start looking for that oversized turtleneck you locked away in the back of your closet. Yes, the one you thought you’d never wear again. Well guess again! You can dress it up with a cute leather mini skirt and a pair of knee high boots to get the runway look. Don’t forget fringe is really in this year and can be pulled off with jackets, sweaters and handbags. So why not get in touch with your inner haute hippie before the trend chucks the deuces?

Are you diggin these seventies sitcom get-ups or is this a far-out fashion faux-paus?
