Kanye receives The BET Visionary Award at The BET Honors

Begin with a message, mix in emotions and add a hint of humor and in due time you have a legendary speech. During the 2015 BET Honors, the very person who presented Kanye West to the world presented him with the “Honorary Visionary” award. After Yeezy admitted to feeling humble for one of the first times ever, it was clear this speech was going to be memorably different. Mr. West can’t seem to open his mouth without gushing about his bodacious dream wife, Kim Kardashian. At the start, he talks about his wife’s love for chocolate men while throwing shade at her not-as-wealthy exes.

This leads Kanye into his true message about “slave mentality” and the forgotten race: the Human race.  In true Ye fashion, the innovator took a moment to appreciate his wardrobe but said, “Don’t think because we can afford a custom Balmain suit, we’re free.” He ended with a message for all “When you have the chance to express it and influence, don’t just do it for us, do it for the human race.”
