Spidey goes Solo

Spider-man is soaring into the next stage of his life.  Rumors of a partnership between Disney and Sony have been swirling for months. 

Now, both studios are confirming that they will be weaving a web of opportunity between rival studios Disney, who owns Marvel, and Sony, who holds rights to the Marvel-created Spider-Man character. "Spider-Man is one of Marvel's most recognized characters, beloved around the world. We're thrilled to work with Sony Pictures to bring the iconic web-slinger into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which opens up fantastic new opportunities for storytelling and franchise building," says Walt Disney Studios Chairman and CEO Bob Iger. Neither Sony nor Marvel disclosed which film Spider-man would join before his solo debut.
