NeNe Leakes departure from Bravo’s RHOA

The world is getting ready to say "Bye, wig" to the trash talking diva of the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, NeNe Leakes. The Bravo queen said she will not be returning the real housewives of Atlanta for season eight . NeNe, 48, has been the network's biggest star since coming on the scene back in 2008. She told People Magazine, "I feel like a weight has been lifted." She also said that the move will be an opportunity for her to spread her wings and do different things.

From the early days of the show many people know that NeNe had lasting power. Her sassy outspoken ways transformed reality TV and made the real housewives one of the biggest reality TV franchises. NeNe who was the headstrong wife of Gregg Leakes was one of the first celebs to throw shade and was always equipped with “tea”. Over the season her antics began to play out gaining the show major publicity. She formed some friendships, started some drama, and had some of TVs biggest fallouts to date. NeNe proved that when she wanted, her alter-ego Nay-Nay would be "so nasty and so rude!"

                

Let's recall some of NeNe’s biggest moments on the TV show. Who could forget her insane fight with her former BFFs Cynthia Bailey? Starting off their friendship with a cheesy friend contract was the icing on the cake that fans needed to know that this bond would be very wacky! When NeNe called Cynthia's husband Peter (who the other women call a housewife) a B&%$#, the friendship was left in ruins. Also, who could forget NeNe's confrontation with  Kim Zolciak? The two nearly came to blows after their friendship went sour after a song deal that went bad. Some of NeNe's other honorable mentions include her fight with former housewife, Sheree Whitfield, her divorce (which eventually led to them being remarried), and an explosive battle with psychologist Dr. Jeff in this past season. 

   Her departure from the show seemed to be inevitable. Many people speculated that she had begun to outgrow the show. When Kenya Moore, former Miss USA, joined the show in season six, it seemed that NeNe he had begun to grow tired of the pettiness from the other cast mates. She began to do other projects including earning recurring roles on the hit TV shows Glee and the new norm, acting on Broadway, and appearing on Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice. RHOA fans will definitely miss the Queen of Shade NeNe Leakes. #GirlBye
