6 Athletes Bare it All in ESPN’s Body Issue
The seventh annual
Body Issue of ESPN The Magazine is unveiled, and the professional
athletes are baring it all! This year’s issue showcases six nude
and seminude athletes in six different covers. The featuring athletes
include the Washington Nationals Bryce Harper, Cleveland Cavaliers
Kevin Love, NY Giants Odell Beckham Jr., Track and Field athletes
Chantae McMillan and Amanda Bingson, and U.S. Swimmer Natalie
Coughlin.
All
of the athletes featured have one thing in common: domination. They
continue to reveal their athleticism and work ethic on and off the
court and field. Their strong physiques are the result of healthy
dieting and persistent training. Each individual was interviewed and
gave some pretty inspiring insight on their athletic journey. Kevin
Love stated, “I’d like to play until I’m 40. And I’d like it
to be my choice.” Chantae McMillan also told Body Issue, “I don’t
look in the mirror and think I’m slim, I look in the mirror and I’m
like, ‘Whoa, Beast!’” These athletes inspire us to take control
of our bodies. If we aren’t satisfied with how we look, then it’s
in our power to make a change!
The
Body Issue made its first debut back in 2009. The Editor in Chief,
Chad Millman, wants the magazine to keep evolving, “Our goal is for
the issue to continue to evolve year after year. The ability to
capture both strength and vulnerability of these extraordinary
athletes through such powerful images and intro-perspective
interviews is incredibly moving.” This year’s issue became
available online on July 6. Be sure to get yourself a copy! The
magazine will hit newsstands on Friday, July 10.
