An Empire engagement

Grace Gealey and Trai Byers, stars from Fox’s hit series Empire, are engaged! The two actors were recently spotted out to dinner in Chicago. Byers, 33, had the surprise evening all planned out for his woman. Gealey, 31, thought it was just another date at a fancy restaurant. It turned out to be a surprise birthday party, surrounded by family members and Empire costars. Sources say that Gealey had on her diamond ring during the celebration. Neither of them have discussed their love life in press interviews, but according to E!News, “They are definitely going strong.”

Be on the lookout for this talented couple during the second season of Empire. The new season will be returning on September 23. Grace Gealey slays the role of Anika Calhoun a.k.a Boo Boo Kitty, Cookie's rival and the on and off leading lady to Luscious, the head of Empire Entertainment, and Trai Byers is playing her soon to be stepson due to her engagement with Luscious. Trai plays Andre Lyon, the oldest son of Cookie and Luscious. He's the CEO of Empire Entertainment who plans on one day being the head of the family business. You can expect to see special appearances from Alicia Keys, Kelly Rowland, and Chris Rock. The show is also up for three Primetime Emmy Awards. This includes Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Taraji P. Henson. While the show is on a roll, Grace and Trai will be working on building their own Empire together. Congratulations!
