Fireworks accident leaves two NFL players as amputees

Even big brawny football players like to have a little fun on the Fourth of July. For NFL players Jason Pierre-Paul and C.J. Wilson, fun turned into a nightmare. Both players had to get fingers amputated after two separate fireworks accidents over the weekend.

While the road to recovery won’t be too difficult, most pro ball players don’t become victims of freak fireworks accidents. Jason Pierre-Paul, who plays for the New York Giants, had to have his right index finger amputated while we are unaware of the fate of C.J. Wilson, who plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. No specific details have been released on how the incidents happened.

Besides missing appendages, C.J. Wilson could also be facing criminal charges. In the state of Florida, fireworks that leave the ground are illegal. Both players are going to have one crazy story to tell in the locker rooms. Next Independence day the two should opt for a safer method of entertainment. Pop goes the weasel anyone?
