UPDATE: Rosie Perez leaves Michelle Collins joins The View
Rosie Perez will
be saying her goodbyes to the daytime talk show, The View. According to
Executive Producer, Bill Wolff, Rosie has decided to pursue her love for
acting. She first joined the show back in September of last year, with
political commentator, Nicolle Wallace. Fans have grown to enjoy Rosie’s
insight and Puerto Rican flavor at The View table, and will be missed!
The 50 year old actress is ready to
finish what she started. She began her acting career by starring in movies such
as “Do the Right Thing," White Man Can’t Jump,” and “Pineapple Express.” By the looks of it, she is
already making moves to finish her career stronger than ever. Her upcoming role
will be in a new series called “Five
Nights in Maine.” In this new drama, she will be working David Oyelowo, Bobby
Moreno, Faith Fay, and more. The show is set to release next year, so be on the
look out.
As for The View, Whoopi Goldberg
will continue to hold the fort down next season. That’s So Raven star, Raven
Symone, has also announced that she will be returning as a co-host. Deadline has
reported that Nicolle Wallace’s future at the table is still up in the air. The
View continues to air every morning at 11 on ABC. The final show of the current
season comes to an end on August 6. 34-year old Michelle Collins who has made several guest appearances on the show is confirmed to be the newest co-host in light of Rosie's departure
