FDA Berates Kim Kardashian’s Endorsement of Morning Sickness Drug

Kim Kardashian recently posted about the morning sickness drug, Diclegis on her Instagram account, but the FDA didn’t ‘heart’ it. In a letter dated August 7, the administration told the drug’s producer Duchesnay Inc. that the celebrity didn’t follow the strict government guidelines for pharmaceutical advertising. Her post lists the benefits of the drug without providing information about its side effects and risks.

Duschenay has until August 21 to respond to the FDA’s letter and correct its false advertising altogether:

“To the extent possible, corrective messaging should be distributed using the same media, and generally for the same duration of time and with the same frequency that the violative promotional material was disseminated,” the letter ends.

No word on what Kim Kardashian thinks about the ordeal.
