Vanessa comes back to Miss America

        

After being forced to resign in 1984, Vanessa Williams will grace the Miss America throne yet again- but this time as head judge. The former Miss America winner broke barriers when she became the first African American female to be crowned, however, her reign was short lived when nude photos taken in the past surfaced in Penthouse Magazine.

A young and kindhearted Williams was thought of as “Vanessa the Undressa” from onlookers who were shocked by the mistakes of her past. “I was the scandalous Miss America. But I silently thought, one day you’ll see what I’m made of.” 

And like she promised, Williams became a powerhouse in the entertainment industry. Her accolades include Emmy and Tony nominations and let’s not forget her Oscar win in 1996.

Zendaya, Nick Jonas, and Brooke Burke are among the few who will accompany Willliams on the judge’s panel. The 95th anniversary of the pageant will air Sunday, September 13th, on ABC.
