Alan Rickman Dies

Our wands are lifted to one of America’s favorite professors.

Actor Alan Rickman, better known as Professor Snape from Harry Potter, died at the age of 69.

The British actor died after a battle with cancer.

Rickman’s voice was one of the most familiar of the past 30 years. He starred in films like Die Hard, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Love, Actually and the Harry Potter Franchise.

JK Rowling tweeted: “There are no words to express how shocked and devastated I am to hear of Alan Rickman’s death. He was a magnificent actor & a wonderful man”.

Although he never won an Oscar, he did receive a Golden Globe, an Emmy, a Bafta and many more.

Rickman once said, “Actors are agents of change. A film, a piece of theatre, a piece of music, or a book can make a difference. It can change the world.”
