“Unbreak My Heart” Breaks Records
Lifetime has done
it again, this time with the success of Toni Braxton’s biopic, “Unbreak My
Heart.” The movie, which starred Hollywood newcomer Lex Scott Davis as Braxton,
drew in a total of 3.6 million viewers. It is the networks most watched
original movie in viewers since Whitney Houston’s biopic “Whitney” that came
out January of 2015. It also was the highest rated cable original movie in
adults 25-54, women 25-54, and women 18-49.
“Unbreak My Heart”
followed many aspects of the songstress’s life through her divorce, financial
problems, rise to fame, her battle with lupus, and taking care of her family.
Toni Braxton served as the executive producer on the film, with help from
producer Kenneth “Babyface” Edwards. When does this duo not make magic together?
The
premiere also broke records on twitter, with celebrities and fans alike
tweeting about the movie. “Unbreak My Heart” and Toni Braxton were both
trending on twitter. Despite some off lip-syncing, the movie was a success.
We’re just happy it didn’t end up a laughingstock like the Aaliyah biopic.
