The Mistiming of Lauryn Hill

One of my favorite performances Monday Night during the Grammy’s was The Weeknd.  But it left me wondering what could have been.  Lauryn Hill was expected to join the Grammy winner on stage for a surprise performance.  There’s a bit of confusion as to why Lauryn Hill didn’t perform.  The former Fugee released a statement in which she said that she was over booked for the weekend and didn’t have enough time to prepare for her performance at the Grammy’s.  However Neil Portnow. the Recording Academy President said Hill’s statement was false, and that she did attend rehearsals Monday morning and that she didn’t return back to Staples Center in time to make the show.  That would be embarrassing for Ms. Hill if she cost her fans a performance because of CP time.
