FLOTUS Flow

Our FLOTUS is hard at work!

The First Lady, who believes strongly in women education and empowerment, was not only in a panel discussion with other female celebrities, but also decided to take a step into the music industry to release a song for charity to motivate girls to get an education.

First Lady Michelle Obama streamed live into a panel discussion at South by Southwest with Queen Latifah, Missy Elliott, and a few other female celebrities to discuss the importance of education for girls. The goal of the panel was to empower girls and women alike to pursue an education despite the circumstances they may be faced with.
Also featured in the panel discussion was songwriter Diane Warren, who penned a song for charity with Mrs. Obama. “This Is for My Girls” is a female empowerment song to go along with the First Lady’s #62MillionGirls campaign to benefit women who are not able to get an education. The song features all female vocalists, including Zendaya, Missy Elliott, Kelly Clarkson, Lea Michelle, and Janelle Monae. “This Is for My Girls” is currently available on ITunes.
All proceeds from the song are being donated to the Peace Corps Let Girls Learn Fund.
From one woman to another, thank you Mrs. Obama for believing in us.
