Green with Money, Not Envy

Hulk Hogan is in for a BIG treat.

After being awarded $115 million in his legal case against Gawker Media, the “Hulkster” received an additional $25 million in punitive damages.

The jury already decided last Friday that Gawker, the company, owed Hogan $115 million in damages after posting a sex tape without his permission back in 2012. He initially sued Gawker for $100 million, but the jurors decided that it wasn’t enough and added $15 million to his haul. The former wrestler walked away with $55 million for economic injuries and $60 million for emotional distress.

Both parties returned to court on Monday as the jury continued to deliberate over punitive damages, but eventually decided to add $25 million to his haul.

The Associated Press reports that Gawker will have to pay $15 million and Nick Denton, founder of Gawker Media, will have to pay the remaining $10 million. Former editor A.J. Daulerio will also have to pay the wrestler $100,000.

Hogan has yet to comment on his latest victory, but after Friday’s verdict he tweeted “Thank you God for justice, only love 4life.” He added, “Told ya I was gonna slam another giant."
