You tell ‘em, Zendaya!
Zendaya and Difficult People star Julie Klausner got into it on Twitter just a day after the 19-year-old took home the Kid’s Choice Award for Favorite Female TV Star.
It all started when Zendaya accepted her award and made her speech at the KCA’s. She thanked her fans for the vote and acknowledged the fact that she is proud of being a positive influence on children and young adults.
“I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I do it for you guys,” she said. “I just want you to know that doing and making positive programming for young people is so important to me, and I will keep doing it. To all the parents out there, thank you for allowing me to be a role model for your children.”
Meanwhile, Klausner felt it was necessary to take it twitter with a comment on Zendaya’s win, which set it all on fire.
“And thinspo model for your impressionable tweens,” referring to Zendaya’s “role model” comment. “Zendaya’s ultimate retort to Giuliana Rancic is starving herself down to the size of her elbow. You don’t have to have an eating disorder to attend the Kids’ Choice Awards … but it helps!”
Zendaya was quick to clap back at Klausner so she can put her in her place!
"Do you find this funny? I will write another paragraph to educate you as well #youreallywannabenext?" she tweeted. "Now....everyone go look in the mirror at their beautiful body, and love that s--t #thickgirlswinning #skinnygirlswinning #weallwinning."
Zendaya has never had a problem with defending herself, just like she didn’t when Giuliana Rancic mocked her hairstyle at the 2015 Oscars,so this isn’t “something new” for her and certainly isn’t surprising that she did the same with Klausner.
But of course, this caused Klausner to go on an even bigger rant on twitter as she tweeted she "will never stop criticizing celebs who perpetuate dangerous beauty standards.”
