Bam-Bam's Spring Jam

This past weekend four-time pro-bowl safety of the Seattle Seahawks, Kam Chancellor, held one of South Hampton Roads most star-studded events. Referred to as Bam-Bam’s Spring Jam, Chancellor conducted a Celebrity Basketball game to raise funds for his foundation, Kam Cares. The game was held in Norfolk, Virginia at Old Dominion University's Ted Constant Convocation Center. The crowds were thick and vast with support and the buzz around the game was elephantine. The celebrity game included stars from all over the sporting and entertainment world. Personalities and teammates such as Marshawn Lynch , Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas and Bobby Wagner participated and were accented by the appearance and participation of other 757 legends such as Michael Vick, rapper Pusha T and NBA Hall of Fame inductee and coach of one of the teams, Allen Iverson.
The game that was played was just the cherry on top in regards to all the weekend's events. Chancellor and his foundation annually come back to the Hampton Roads area to give back and show his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia some love. The weekend actually began on Friday, May 27th with a silent auction and cocktail reception. Following this, prior to the big celebrity mashup at Ted Constant, Kam hosted a Family and friends Memorial Day cookout at Towne Point Park in Norfolk. This gathering was free and open to the public. The event allowed some of Chancellor’s fans and supporters to mingle with elite athletes and other celebrity personalities while they enjoyed food and fun. Overall the weekend turned out to be a success and an engaging and exciting experience for many of the locals. Kam Chancellor has done more than a superb job at remaining a constant and steady role model for his community. His efforts to give back and stimulate his hometown honestly shows that Kam cares.
