Best Prince Tribute of All-Time

      Last night BET gave the world a full plethora of amazing performances, to honor Prince the “right way”. Since previous tributes have been deemed horrible, boring and even disrespectful on some levels, BET felt the need to show the world how a tribute is really done. Every performance and hosting segment related to Prince was off the charts. From “rain” pouring down, to “ass-less pants”, to  powerhouse performances by Maxwell, Janelle Monae, Jennifer Hudson, Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder and Tori Kelly, the show was nothing but outstanding. Outfits were strategically chosen to honor the late singer, and they made us all remember him in a positive light.

       The icing on the cake was when Sheila E. owned the stage for her friend! If you've never seen her perform before, last night you got a treat. She made sure that she honored her friend by bringing out all of her talents, along with some of the people he loved, including his ex-wife Mayte Garcia, and co-vocalists. Her seven-minute segment left the audience standing up and grooving, while also causing them to really feel her love for Prince through her music. They say music is the gateway to the soul, and everyone that honored him made that clear. There isn't a tribute, without true, heartfelt performances. Rest In Peace Prince.
