Stars and Tony Awards Pay Respect to Orlando
Yesterday morning, the world was shattered with the breaking news of a massacre that occurred at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. The Tony Awards were being held later on this day, to televise their 70th Annual Award Show. To honor the victims and those wounded you the shooter, the program was adjusted to fit the atmosphere. The Tony Awards announced earlier in the day that they would, “dedicate their ceremony to those that lost their lives”. 
James Corden gave an opening speech that touched viewers and nominees.
Stars such as Laura Benanti and Cynthia Erivo tweeted their feelings and condolences.

Lin-Manuel Miranda recited a powerful quote relaying that no day is promised to anyone. Miranda also stated that “Love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love and love cannot be killed or swept aside”.
The Tony Awards showcased a conglomerate of peace, joy, acceptance, and most importantly love.
