Jimmy Kimmel Makes Us Laugh At The Oscars

Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel took the stage as host of the 89th Academy Awards, after an exciting star studded performance from Justin Timberlake. Kimmel broke the ice with political humor pointing out the fact that the Oscars is being watched by 225 countries that hate us.  The comedian took jabs at President Trump, telling the A-list Hollywood Oscar attendees that in order for us to make America great again, each person should reach out to someone you disagree with and have a positive conversation. Kimmel turned the heat up a little more when he asked the audience to give Meryl Streep, who slammed Trump at the Golden Globes, a standing ovation jokingly calling her overrated and asked her if her gown was designed by Ivanka Trump. The jokes continued throughout the evening as Kimmel poked fun at longtime rival Matt Damon, mentioning how the Oscars is not so white this year, and more about our nation’s leader. Recently Kimmel told Variety Magazine he was considering retiring from his late show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” once it reach the end of his contract; hopefully Kimmel is joking about his retirement.
