The Nike Air Mag Makes an Oscars Appearance

Chanel, Tom Ford, and Gucci all made appearances at the 89th Annual Oscars, but Seth Rogen stepped into the spotlight when he wore the Nike Air Mag on stage. The “Superbad” actor hopped out of a replica Deloreon with Michael J. Fox in the passenger seat and with the Air Mag, managed to take the Oscars back to the Future.

The Air Mag is that futuristic shoe that every shoe lover wants in their closet. Recently in 2016, Nike released a new version of this Iconic shoe highlighting an innovative self lacing system like the shoes from the movie. That shoe was virtually impossible to get unless you had at least $52,000 to bid on them. The Mag was auctioned off in New York City, where it sold for $200,000, Shanghai ($105,000), and London ($56,000). Yeah, this shoe was a hot commodity for those who could afford it.

This Mag appearance comes about a month before Nike’s unofficial holiday, Air Max Day which kicks off on March 26th. Nike is notorious for releasing a plethora of shoes this day, so sneaker heads be on the lookout. Last Year, Air Max Day brought about the release of another Air Max Zero sneaker, but this year Nike dug into the archives to finally retro the coveted Atmos x Air Max 1. Kick enthusiasts stay tuned, Nike is set to have a huge year.
