Rise For the Cause
Every
sneaker head or urban hypebeast walking knows how big of a classic the Retro
“Royal” Air Jordan 1 is so lets skip the significance of the shoe and talk
about a more controversial crisis that it’s release is causing. Local New York
boutique Rise is using a raffle to donate proceeds to the Flint water crisis.
24 pairs of
the shoe are available sizes 8-13 through the raffle. Raffle entries run $1
each and there’s a minimum spend of $10. The goal was to raise at least $3,000
but that was pass as $4,500 has now been raised. Rise will contact the winners
on Friday and the shoes will release Saturday April 1st.
Rise is
really for the culture using a monumental event to give back to the people who
really matter. Hopefully we see more retailers and companies pick up this trend
and make a difference to what counts and not accounts.
