Serena Williams is Expecting!

It looks like Serena Williams is pregnant with her first baby!

Serena broke the unexpected news today on Snapchat, saying that she is 20 weeks into her pregnancy.

The tennis champion posted a full body selfie taken in a mirror. She wore a yellow one-piece swimsuit that showed off her baby bump and the caption simply read “20 weeks.”

The image was later removed from her story. Congratulations had begun to pour in from fellow players and tennis organizations on social media.

As fans may remember, back in December she got engaged to tech entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit. 

Williams’ pregnancy is exciting enough, but the news that she was pregnant during the year’s first grand slam has left fans in awe.

Among active tennis players, Williams holds the most major titles in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles combined. More importantly, she’s hot on the heels of Margaret Court’s all-time grand slam singles titles record of 24.

Tennis' next major event is the French Open, which begins on May 28. If Williams is, in fact, 20 weeks pregnant, she would be due in early September.
