Welcome Back, Lamar Odom
Lamar Odom sat down with Wendy Williams Wednesday for
an emotional exclusive interview that may bring viewers to tears. Wendy,
holding back waterworks herself, not only got the scoop on what life was like
during Odom’s drug addiction phase, but she also shared her deepest empathies
with him.
“I was… crack-ish
at one point also” she said.
No topic was too touchy for Odom. The former Laker
admitted to taking drugs before filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians, losing
his relationship with his children, and even took viewers back to the night
that changed his life: Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch, 2015. He said that the night he
slipped into a coma he did not take drugs, so he believes the coma was God’s
way of urging him to change his lifestyle. Odom also confirmed that ex-wife,
Khloe Kardashian, stayed by his side as he fought for his life not for
television, but for real love. However, despite their six-year marriage, he
says that he would not consider rekindling a relationship with Khloe because it’s
best for both of them to keep their distance.
When asked about the former NBA star’s dealings with
long-time friend and brother-in-law, Rob Kardashian, he revealed that the two
do not talk anymore. He couldn’t give a definite answer as to why, but he
thinks the pain he’s put Khloe through strained their friendship.
What’s next for Odom? He told Wendy that he wants to
possibly coach the Lakers part time and use his experience to help those who
battle with addiction and/or trauma. The chat ended on a positive note with Wendy
honoring Odom with a golden basketball covered with the words, peace, courage,
hope, and happiness. We’re thrilled to see Lamar sober and healthy!
