The Queen B made a special guest appearance to present Colin Kaepernick with the Sports Illustrated Muhammad Ali Legacy Award on Tuesday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick last played during week 17 of the 2016 NFL season before causing uproar throughout the league by taking a knee during the national anthem in protest of police brutality. The Muhammad Ali Legacy Award is presented to an athlete who uses his or her platform to "promote change."

When receiving the award Kaepernick said "I accept this award knowing that the legacy of Muhammad Ali is that of a champion of the people... I accept this award not for myself, but on behalf of the people because if it were not for my love of the people, I would not have protested."

He went on to say "With or Without the NFL's platform, I will continue to work for the people, because my platform is the people."

As a voice of the people, Kaepernick's efforts have been noted, and as long as he kneels for us we will continue to stand up for him. Congrats Kap.
