LiAngelo Ball Leaves UCLA
And just like that, the Balls won’t ball at UCLA anymore.
Lavar Ball has made the executive decision to withdraw son LiAngelo from UCLA.
The move comes after LiAngelo was arrested for shoplifting
while in China with the university’s basketball team last month, igniting a
tennis match of argumentative comments between Lavar and Donald Trump which
lasted for a number of days.
Ball was suspended even though the charges against him were
dropped before he returned to the US. TMZ reports that Lavar believes that
indefinite suspension was a harsh penalty for his son’s mistake. LiAngelo has
not officially withdrawn from UCLA, but sources say that he has returned home
and does not plan on returning.
UCLA coach Steve Alford addressed LiAngelo’s decision to
leave, ““We learned today of LiAngelo Ball’s intention to withdraw from UCLA.
We respect the decision he and his family have made, and we wish him all the
best in the future.”
Lavar was a freshman and did not play in a game for the team
before his bow out.
