Soulful Sade’s Vocals Reappear in New Film
After 8 years of silence from Ms. Smooth herself, Sade Adu has recorded an original song for A Wrinkle in Time, directed by Ava Duvernay. Duvernay is now the first woman of color to direct a live-action film with a production budget over $100 million.
Fans have not heard from the British-Nigerian singer since her and her eponymous band’s sixth album, Soldier of Love, was released in 2010.
The “Smooth Operator” singer will join artists like DJ Khaled, Sia, Kehlani and Chloe x Halle on the film’s soundtrack.
A Wrinkle in Time starring Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling will hit theatres March 9.
