It Was a Marvelous Sweep
All of our favorite actors and actresses gathered Sunday, Januray
27th, 2019 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles California. ‘The
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ was the big winner for the night. Dominating the TV
comedy categories, this comedic show took the first award of the night for best
actor in a comedy series, Tony Shalhoub, followed by his co-star, Rachel
Brosnahan, taking best actress.
The next big win of the night was ‘This Is Us’, outstanding
drama series ensemble and among the ensemble was, Rami Malek, best actor for
‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and Glen Close, best actress for, ‘The Wife’. So, a pretty
successful night for this cast.
The SAG lifetime achievement award went to Alan Alda. A
veteran actor who is best known for his starring in the 1972-83 series
‘M*A*S*H’. At the age of 82, Alda still appears on out television in ‘The Good
Fight’, ‘Ray Donovan’ and more. Introduced by Tom Hanks, the first person to
receive a SAG award, a standing ovation from the audience was given to applaud
his wonderful work in the industry.
To close off the night ‘Black Panther’ took home the SAG
film ensemble cast award, beating the four-time nominated ‘A Star Is Born’,
‘BlacKkKlansmans’, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘Crazy Rich Asians’.
