The Force Goes to Sleep

Well, you know what they say, all good things must come to an end, and for the sci-fi fantasy series, it’s about that time. The release of the trailer for Star Wars IX: Rise of Skywalker is just what dedicated Warsies have been waiting for. After 42 years of exploring the out of this world Jedi Universe, on December 20, 2019, the world of Star Wars will finally conclude.

In the final episode of the “Skywalker saga”, old meets new with the mix of original actors from the beginning of the series created from what fans know as  a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, to a group of new generation actors that director JJ Abrams hopes will continue creator George Lucas’ legacy. In the Rise of Skywalker, fans will witness the Resistance battle the First order one last time to end the long conflict between the Jedi and the Sith.

From the series that had every little kid running around, breathing heavy and mumbling “I am your father”, the reveal of the final trailer during halftime of a game between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets stole the show, just like the intergalactic franchise always manages to do. Posts quickly started to accumulate on social media about people’s excitement over this new release and Star Wars fanatics are already finding ways to purchase tickets for the premier, two months away.

So grab you lightsabers, your Chewbacca costumes and your Darth Vader masks that we know you secretly have hiding in the back of your closet, and make sure you don’t miss out on this final episode.  Although fans may be concerned that the Jedi world they know and love will be gone forever, they should never forget that in the end, the force will always be with you.
