Fires take over Hollywood

For many celebrities, Los Angeles County, California is where they call home. Unfortunately, this is also the path of the recent Getty fire, one of the four wildfires let loose throughout Southern California that broke out on Monday, Oct. 29 in the early hours of the morning. Due to this area being an ideal place for some of the top A-list celebrities, they have been put right in the midst of these dangerous fires. These raging fires have forced the evacuation of stars such as Los Angeles Lakers basketball player, Lebron James, to Sen. Kamala Harris. While firefighters and law enforcement worked to keep the public out of harms way, celebrities took to social media to keep the public informed on their well being. NBA star, Lebron James went to twitter to let his followers know how much trouble he was having finding a safe place to go after him and his family were evacuated from their Los Angeles County home when he wrote “Had to emergency evacuate my house and I’ve been driving around with my family to get rooms. No luck so far!” 

Arnold Schwarzenegger also took to social media to assure fans that him and his family had gotten out safely and as a warning to others as he wrote, “We evacuated safely at 3:30 this morning. If you are in an evacuation zone, don’t screw around. Get out.” To show the severity of these fires, film director, Peter Berg, shared a terrifying video of hills that he stated were directly behind his house, completely engulfed in flames. As the fires continue to spread throughout the state, more and more posts like these are taking over the timelines of millions of fans watching through their screens. With the help of celebrities urging other residents of these areas to evacuate, and by providing constant updates, it is helping to keep more people safe and away from the increasing fire. People throughout the country hope for the best and officials are working hard to keep the public safe.
