1000’s of fans gathered at the Staples Center yesterday to mourn the loss of former Lakers player, Kobe Bryant, after finding out about his death. The NBA superstar died in a helicopter crash near Calabasas along with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven other people on board this past Sunday. A fan memorial was made in his honor to celebrate his life and legacy. The Staples Center has been the center of the vigil since, allowing fans to come and mourn. Bryant’s death has affected the community so much that the Lakers game originally scheduled for tonight at the Staples Center has been cancelled, something that hasn’t been done since 2013 after the Boston Marathon Bombings. As the community mourns, an official public vigil is trying to find a proper location. According to TMZ, instead of the Staples Center, the L.A. Coliseum is being chosen for the place of the vigil simply because the Center is too small, only holding 20,000. No matter where it takes place, people all over the world will continue to mourn Kobe Bryant and remember him as being more than just a basketball player but a great, talented man.
