A Purple Tribute
Performers both young and old, will be coming together to put on a special tribute to the one and only Prince to remind you what it sounds like when doves cry. Two days after the Grammys, the Los Angeles Convention Center will be covered in purple rain for the filming of "Let's Go Crazy: The Grammy Salute to Prince", which won't be aired until April. The show will explore the Purple One's glamorous life through different time periods of his musical career and biographical parts combined with a plethora of his many hits that made everyone fall in love with His Royal Badness years ago. The celebration will feature Prince collaborators, his old band and a lineup including Common, H.E.R., and Earth, Wind & Fire.
With Prince being so iconic, many eyes are on the team behind this production to put on a worthy tribute. The power of Prince's music was one that is hard to be emulated, but with the help of Sheila E., past percussionist for Prince who will be serving as the night's musical director, and longtime prince associates Jimmy Tam and Terry Lewis, they hope to unify all fans and lovers of the electrifying music powerhouse.
