From slays to nays, to hitting the big stage with talented performers, the Grammy’s of 2020 was unmatched. There were some hits, and there were some misses. Some severing looks, that left people shook, while others should’ve left the building all together. These are the top five moments of the 2020 Grammy Awards.

The show started with Alicia Keys singing the introduction to the award show while playing the piano, followed by a tribute to the NBA legend, Kobe Bryant. Singers Alicia Keys and Boyz II Men opened the show by singing, “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday.” Emotions filled the room as everyone took a minute to absorb the death of basketball legend, father, husband, and son, Kobe Bryant.

Lizzo won best traditional R&B Performance. She was up against Beyonce, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift. Lizzo expressed how humble she was to receive an award after everything she’s been through.

Later, singer Camila Cabello dedicated her song, “First Man” to her father. The song was a definite tear jerker as Camila’s father teared up at the heart-felt words his daughter sang. Camila made her way off the stage to share this incredible moment with her father, as if they were the only two in the room.

In other news, singer Usher paid a tribute to pop superstar, Prince. Usher was joined by Prince’s former band member, Sheila E. The performance highlighted the clothing Prince wore, the dance moves, and the art the idol produced for future generations to enjoy.

The last of many top moments, was a special tribute to another legend, Nipsey Hussle. Meek Mill, John Legend, DJ Khaled, and Roddy Ricch came together to show their appreciation for the artist. The crowd’s excitement increased as the performance went on and the big screen showed Nipsey rapping a verse to his song “Higher.” The tribute ended with a photo of Kobe Bryant and Nipsey Hussle beside each other.

Overall, the Grammy’s of 2020 highlighted everyone for their extraordinary talents and united a diverse crowd to give recognition to those that deserve it the most.
